Education for Self-Management of Cooperatives and its Contribution to Local Development

Abstract

This work analyzes the cooperative principle and its importance for self-management. It also verifies in the literature a possible contribution to the objective for sustainable development number 4, with the potential to develop skills and technical competencies for the cooperative members, mainly in the self-management of recovered companies and in the specialized training of the local community. Education and professional training appear as a relevant factor in the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 of the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda, such as Goals 4.3 and 4.4, indicating the importance of these processes to all countries. Brazil has vocational schools with technical level courses for traditional professions and the S System, such as the National Service for Cooperative Learning (SESCOOP) and others, whose objective is to train professionals for the job market.
