Abstract

In this paper, a new scheme that combines Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) with parity bit selected block spreading is introduced. In this proposed method, the data symbols in each block is used to select the spreading code. Therefore, frequency diversity in the system is increased as well as improving the symbol detection due to the inherent coding in the spreading technique. Simulation results show significant improvement in BER performance for the proposed system compared with conventional OFDM one. © 2009 IEEE.
